Aberdeen

Aberdeen is located in the southern tip of Moore County. The first settlers came to the area around 1790 and were Scottish Highlanders, fleeing their country. Prior to 1900 the local economy was shaped by agriculture, industry and tourism. Today there is a healthy balance of these three major segments of the Sandhills economy.

It is home to approximately 5,100 people in about 15.5 square miles. Residential real estate in Aberdeen is moderately priced with an average asking price of $200,700.
The historic district has been refurbished and boasts 100 historic buildings. In addition US 1 in Aberdeen has many modern businesses like shops, restaurants and hotels.
